Department of ECONOMICS

The Department of Economics was established in the year 1980 with the very inception of the college. For the last 43 years hundreds of students have been graduated with good knowledge and technical skills in economics. Most of them are employed in the field of teaching, banking, administration and Indian Army. Students graduated from our college have found themselves successful in abroad as well. In the beginning days, Prof. Shakunthala T K and Prof. Kamalakshi A M took the responsibility and laid a strong foundation to the Department.

At present, Mr. Benedict R. Saldanha and Mr. Nagaraj H V are steering the Department to greater heights.

Along with the academic activities Departement of Economics arranges different activities with the intention of preparing our students to face possible challenges expected in their career. The students are encouraged to initiate themselves in various other activities such as Socio-economic survey industrial visit, guest lectures, agricultural survey, skill development program etc.,
