Department of Political Science

The department of Political Science started in the year 1980. Prof.N.CNeelamma was the head of the department and worked ever since the inception of the college till2014. After the retirement of Prof. N. C Neelamma, Smt. K T Seethamma served as the headof the department till 2018. From 2018 Smt. AkshithaNaik T heads the department and SmtGayathri serves as lecturer in the department.Sri M N Vanith Kumar has also served as a part-time Lecturer. The faculty members of the department have participated in seminars and conferencesorganized by various colleges. Students get admitted to the B.A (Pol.Sci) degree course on the basisof their interest towards the subject. The syllabus is being revised once in five years. The Department Library has adequate number of books. The department conducts meetings, debatesand discussions regarding current issues.Many magazines and periodicals are recommended to the college library annually.

The Department conducts various outdoor activities like visits to courts, local self-governing bodies and VidhanaSoudha to create awareness on Indian legal and political affairsamong the students. The slow learners of the department are given special coaching andregular tests are conducted to improve their standards. Moreover, the facultyguides their students to attend competitive examinations.
